At the Crossroads * 14 Tracks

Many light years from here, or we could say Once Upon a Time, a dream of a dream was buried, like a turtle egg in sand, for a time when the conditions might require a new story. It would be a time of a very particular cry from the heart of our world. And the egg, the dream of a dream would open. It is a song of light. Strong enough for the travelers gathered to walk within it, to be broken open in it, so that this egg, this dream could be born. Such a story has happened before. A buried egg, a new dream, a gathering of souls, a guide and a path. The Song of Genesis.

In the beginning we were so much closer to birds than we are now. We moved like migrating birds and whales, magnetically. Our instincts were more pure and closer to the rhythms of the earth and our thirst for water. Our brain itself was so different then. And once in a very great while, there is a door, covered in the dung of sheep, the forgetfulness of humanity.

The weight of corruption holds the traveler's head down, filters her ears so that she is bound to a solitude that prevents love. Such is the agony. She, he, lives beside this door for decades, centuries, lifetime after lifetime, placed as the immortals once were, in a given location. In some essential way, this hidden door becomes the haunt of her or his life. The saints have been banished from the prayers of the people, as we, humanity, slipped further and further away from the light of glory, hidden within our hearts.

The approach to this door has been cleared. Its existence excavated by the practice over many years, the ethic of the border between the worlds and the unearthing of the tradition, which guards light. The worlds are much closer to one another than the texts would suggest. The breath within the breath.

Enter. Do not confuse the sweeping of the threshold and the visions there, with the territory itself. The landscape of the soul. Flowers, bud to blossom, fleeting perfection, color, scent. These teachings are planted in your heart and grow. These teachings have waited long, in the secret garden of She who bears no name, to restore the light of the sacred feminine in us, in our world.

These are ancient arts. To remember her primal gaze at the very root of life. To live for and within her. We arrive at a crossroads guarded by angels, demons, Masters, Immortals. A crossroads is where the compass that brought us here breaks. The battery dies. A crossroads can be an altar, where the fire of love is built, where the journey home begins. A very different compass.  Teachers are sent to crossroads. Strangers, whose eyes follow you for the rest of your days. My past is received at a crossroads, in time wiped clean. The place where two roads meet. What else at a crossroads? A spring. A message left for you, where your past and future meet. Where you agree to meet someone many years later. Where a turn in your life has been written.  Many people die at crossroads. There's a graveyard at a crossroads. There's an apple tree where a traveler threw their apple, not knowing which way to turn. Do I keep going? Do I turn left? Do I turn right? How many lifetimes does one live at a crossroads waiting to know the next step? Waiting for the stranger to arrive? A 500-year-old tree to sleep beneath. The one who has been waiting for you to get here. Robbers and bandits, orphans, entrepreneurs, travel agents.
